Put savings within your reach with a $550 cash incentive

Savings Within Reach, offered through Energy Trust of Oregon, makes it easier for moderate-income Oregon households to make energy-efficiency upgrades and home improvements.

Participating Savings Within Reach contractors, who install a 90 percent AFUE or greater natural gas furnace in your home, deduct $550 from your invoice so you can reduce out-of-pocket expenses. Gas furnaces used as backup for high-efficiency heat pumps, also known as hybrid systems, are not eligible.

Allowable upgrades and maximum loan amounts

Savings Within Reach customers may apply for a 10-year Craft3 loan with a 6.49% interest rate (loan is 5 years for loans of $2,000 or less) for specific energy-efficiency improvements that receive Energy Trust incentives. The maximum loan amount is $10,000 and the length of the loan depends on the amount borrowed. Once approved for the loan, your monthly payment will appear on your energy bill after the project is complete.

Maximum loan amount is determined by which Energy Trust eligible measures are performed.

*Qualifying gas furnace must account for at least 51% of loan amount for central air conditioner to qualify.

**Central air conditioner financing is available for customers of NW Natural.

Guidelines and participating contractors

Who can participate in Savings Within Reach?

Owner-occupied single-family or manufactured homes in Oregon. (Must own land where home is located. Manufactured homes on leased land not eligible.)
Residence must be heated with natural gas provided by NW Natural.
Your household must meet Energy Trust of Oregon’s low to moderate-income guidelines, which are based on the number of residents and gross annual income—your total income before tax credits and deductions—of the home.

Savings Within Reach moderate-income guidelines

Gross annual income. Minimum and maximum thresholds are updated in alignment with community action agency income guidelines and Oregon moderate income statutes within the Affordable Housing Covenants. Updated income guidelines are in effect as of July 1, 2020.

The following NW Natural Preferred Contractors participate in Savings Within Reach. Each contractor offers the Savings Within Reach $550 incentive to eligible Oregon households in addition to the NW Natural Furnace Campaign incentives for those converting their current heating system to natural gas or to NW Natural customers interested in upgrading their current heating system to high efficiency.
